Biography
Steve Mansfield is a specialist colorectal surgeon at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. He was awarded his degrees in medicine and surgery (MB, ChB) from Birmingham University in 1993 and was awarded an MD with distinction from Newcastle University in 2008. His underwent surgical training in Worcestershire and Warwickshire before completing his specialist training in the North of England based in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He was awarded a national laparoscopic colorectal surgery fellowship at Derriford hospital, Plymouth prior to becoming a consultant. His particular interests are laparoscopic surgery, particularly for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and hernia surgery. He was a preceptor on the national training programme in laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
He has presented at many national and international meetings and is a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland.
