Biography
After undergraduate training at St Thomas' Hospital Medical School, I trained in general and colorectal surgery in North West London. I carried research into benign anal disease at St Mark's Hospital (MD 2003).
I was appointed as Colorectal Surgeon at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust in 2005.
I have a clinical practice across most areas of colorectal surgery including colonoscopy, laparoscopic and open colorectal surgery, bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and anal surgery.
Since 2010, have been involved in quality improvement and medical management. I have worked in roles including Divisional and Deputy Medical Director. I was awarded a Generation Q Fellowship by the Health Foundation in 2015.
I am currently National Clinical Lead for General Surgery at Getting it Right First Time in NHS England.
