With education and training being a core element of ACPGBIs work, the E&T Committee, under the leadership of Nicola Eardley, continues to do a brilliant job on our behalf.
Our flagship virtual educational event, the Advanced Coloproctology Course (ACC), takes place from 26 to 27 March 2025, with the topics and speakers as relevant and exciting as ever. This week sees the opening of registration for the ACPGBI Advanced Coloproctology Course 2025! The course has been running successfully for more than 30 years, and it will be the 5th year of delivering the course in its virtual format. We have introduced a slightly different flavour for 2025, seen as it is a Tripartite year, by inviting the Presidents of each of the Tripartite colorectal societies to speak at ACC 2025, and I am pleased that all have agreed to do so.
A link to registration for the meeting is below, and as March will be here before we know it, I would encourage you to book your study leave in good time, and to share the course details with colleagues please.

In addition, the ACPGBI Annual Meeting in Harrogate from 30 June to 2 July 2025, with the theme of “Coloproctology in Evolution”, is now open for abstract submission. As the programme takes shape with many topical sessions and world-leading invited lecturers already confirmed, please do remind your wider team members to submit abstracts via the link below, and more details of the exciting programme will follow soon:

Finally, following the very positive feedback on the BRUK Lecture on Artificial Intelligence delivered at the annual meeting in Newport earlier this year, I have asked James Kinross to Chair an AI and Data Management Taskforce on behalf of ACPGBI. The rationale for this will be published in Colorectal Disease later this month for those interested to read more detail. The Taskforce will be in touch with all ACPGBI members soon in order to seek your collective input into this important work.
