About ACPGBI

December 2024

As this is my final President's message of 2024, I wanted to thank you on behalf of everyone at ACPGBI for all the hard work you do to treat and care for our patients with colorectal disease.

This can be hugely rewarding, but also incredibly challenging. As we approach the end of the year, I hope as many of you as possible can take some time away from work, whether that's spending time with loved ones, pursuing personal interests, or simply relaxing. This break is important so that you can return to work in the coming year feeling recharged and ready to face undoubted new challenges.

The pressures on the NHS remain significant and affect us all in different ways. However, we can each make a positive impact, especially through acts of kindness and civility towards our colleagues and patients.

On behalf of the ACPGBI Executive and wider team, many of whom are represented in our recent Strategy review meeting photo from Cambridge (more details to follow!), we wish you a restful and enjoyable holiday season.

We look forward to connecting with you virtually at the Advanced Coloproctology Course in March, and then in-person for our “Evolution in Coloproctology"- themed Annual Meeting in Harrogate next summer.

We're committed to ensuring these events are engaging, accessible and inclusive for all our members.

Justin Davies
President, ACPGBI
