Advanced Colonoscopy Advanced Training Skills Module

We are delighted to confirm the launch of the Advanced Colonoscopy Advanced Training Skills Module (ATSM).

This programme has been developed to address critical workforce shortages and capacity constraints in colonoscopy services for the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (BCSP). 

Successful candidates will be supported by the training centre/hosting organisation to achieve national BCSP endoscopist accreditation criteria. This offer is primarily open to post-ST5/6 Gastroenterology trainees (with JAG accreditation in basic colonoscopy) and post-ST6 Colorectal surgical trainees (with JAG accreditation in basic colonoscopy).

Non-training grades, and post CCT applicants will also be considered.

This is an invaluable opportunity for accelerated skill acquisition with a focus on immersive, hands-on training under the mentorship of skilled practitioners.

All Expressions of Interest must be completed via an online application form. The link to this form can be found below and is also provided within the documents titled Eligibility Criteria and List of Questions.

Please note that Microsoft Word or PDF submissions will not be accepted. In order for Expressions of Interest to be considered, applicants must also send a copy of their CV as indicated within the online form.

Expressions of Interest will open on Monday 27th January 2025 at 12 noon, and close on Monday 10th February 2025 at 5pm.

Due to overlapping timelines associated with the ATSM Expressions of Interest and Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) deadlines, it is recommended that candidates consider applying for their OOPE prior to receiving the outcome of their Expression of Interest.
