Acute appendicitis is common but continues to challenge surgeons with respect to diagnosis, imaging, management decisions and complications.
The place of non-operative management and follow-up is uncertain and surgery can pose technical challenges eg the difficult mesoappendix, the difficult appendix base, unusual pathology, when and how to convert from laparoscopic to open and when to resect.
Through discussion of real cases a panel of experts will address these and other issues.
