Biography

I am a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon with passion for learning and teaching, successfully providing strategic leadership in care, development, education and research in surgical practice over the last thirty years. My training, education, and journey through the NHS and overseas (both in civilian and military environments), over the last thirty years, has prepared me well for the challenges facing the dynamism of Global Health Organisations. I feel confident in my expertise as a general and colorectal surgeon providing highest quality of patient care. I am able to create the pertinent ambiance advancing the joy of learning for our future doctors. I had the honour of serving as a college tutor; examiner; convener of examinations and international ambassador, all for the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and as an undergraduate tutor at Imperial College, London and Cambridge University Medical School and as an Honorary Professor at the Bangladesh Defence Medical Service's University for the Professionals. I was commissioned in the United Kingdom Armed forces in the Royal Army Medical Corps. I served in the British Army with distinction and was awarded UN, NATO, Danish Army and French Armoured Division medals. For my gallantry service to the American and NATO Military personnel and my contribution to the health sector reform in the Balkans, I was awarded the American Army Achievement (AAAM) medal. I am recognised as a well reputed General & Colorectal Surgeon, International Health Policy and Planning Expert, as well as a successful teacher and a Trainer.
