Biography
I work as a consultant colorectal surgeon in Nottingham with a clinical practice that includes intestinal failure, inflammatory bowel disease and complex abdominal wall repair. I studied medicine at Imperial College and completed my surgical training in Colchester and the South West Peninsula Deanery in 2021. Following this I undertook an RCSEng/ACPGBI fellowship in intestinal failure and rehabilitation surgery at St Mark’s Hospital and completed a further year as a locum consultant in 2022. I was awarded the David Dunn travelling fellowship by ALSGBI in 2020 and used this to complete short colorectal and hernia fellowships in Leuven and Ghent, Belgium in 2023.
I have an interest in guideline development and methodology and I chair ACPGBI’s guideline committee. I also sit on the European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) guideline committee and the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) research committee. My research interests include abdominal wall repair and high output stoma.
