Biography
I completed my basic surgical training on the Hammersmith Hospitals rotation in London. In 2005 I was offered the unique position of emergency surgery fellow for a year at Charing Cross Hospital where I received excellent training in open emergency surgery. I was subsequently offered a registrar position on the colorectal firm for a further year giving me the opportunity to build experience in the specialty of my choice whilst concluding and publishing my research. I was appointed to the South East Thames higher surgical training programme in August 2007 and worked at Gillingham, Sidcup, Woolwich, Lewisham and St Thomas’ Hospital. I successfully competed to achieve the Ethicon colorectal laparoscopic fellowship at St Mark's Hospital where I received concentrated operative training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and remained as a post CCT Resident Surgical Officer for a further year. I was appointed as a substantive colorectal consultant at Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust to develop the laparoscopic service.
