Biography
I am the head of Gastrointestinal Surgery at the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW). I am a colorectal and general surgeon with a specialist interest in minimally invasive surgery including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
I completed basic surgical training in London and was awarded an MD from the University of London following research into colorectal cancer and minimally invasive surgery. I undertook higher surgical training at the Oxford Deanery following which I was selected for the National Ethicon Fellowship in Advanced Colorectal Surgery. Before starting in my consultant post I undertook a further fellowship in complex colorectal surgery at St Mark’s Hospital, London.
I perform robotic surgery for benign and malignant colorectal disease with a focus on rectal cancer. I am an international trainer in robotic colorectal surgery teaching surgeons across the UK and Europe.
I have paediatric surgical experience through working in a specialist paediatric surgical department in Oxford and I perform general paediatric surgery including clinics and day case procedures.
