Biography
Professor Motson is the President of The Iceni Centre for Laparoscopic Surgery at Colchester University Hospital, Professor of Surgery at Anglia Ruskin University and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at Colchester University Hospital.
He was a pioneer of laparoscopic surgery in the United Kingdom and ran one of the first training courses for laparoscopic cholecystectomy in the early 1990s.
He is a past President of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland, the Royal Society of Medicine Section of Coloproctology, the Colchester Medical Society and the International Society of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeons.
He has lectured and demonstrated laparoscopic surgical techniques throughout the world and published more than 140 scientific papers.
He was recently made an Honorary Member of the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
