Biography

Rebecca Fish qualified from the University of Manchester in 2003. She completed basic and higher surgical training in the North West of England, followed by a 6 month Royal College of Surgeons senior clinical fellowship in advanced and laparoscopic colorectal surgery at St James Hospital in Leeds. Ms Fish has clinical and research expertise in consensus methodology, outcomes measurement and patient reported outcomes, anal cancer and peritoneal tumours. In 2019 she completed a PhD developing a core outcome set for clinical trials in anal cancer (CORMAC), for which she was awarded the ACPGBI BJS Prize in 2018 and the University of Manchester FBMH PhD student of the year in 2019. In 2016 She was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Normal Tanner Medal for her work on the impact of UK specialist-services commissioning on referral and treatment pathways in pseudomyxoma peritonei. Ms Fish was appointed as a colorectal and peritoneal surgeon at The Christie hospital, Manchester in 2020 and is an honorary senior lecturer at The University of Manchester.
