I born in district Bagh, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan in 1975. I got my education up till Higher Secondary School from Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Pakistan. I completed my basic medical education (MBBS) from Punjab Medical College Faisalabad, Pakistan in 1998. Then I completed my general surgical training in 2004 and qualified Fellow-ship examination in general surgery in 2004, from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (FCPS).
I have worked as a general surgeon in Azad Kashmir, Sheikh Zayed Hospital Lahore and finally joined Shifa International Hospital Islamabad Pakistan in November 2005.
I started working as Consultant General Surgeon in Shifa International Hospital until February 2012, when I started my Fellowship Training in UK.
I completed my Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery from Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Hospitals, London United Kingdom in years 2012-2013.
After coming back from UK I have started my work as Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in Shifa International Hospital Islamabad and I am here until today.
I also qualified Fellowship in European Board of Colo-Rectal Surgery in 2015.
I am the first person from Pakistan who is awarded by fellowships from European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP) for training at Geneva University Hospital Switzerland in 2018 and an International Scholarship by American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS) for visit to Mayo Clinic Hospital, USA in 2019.
I am Fellow of American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), Fellow of European Society of Coloproctology (ESCP), Member of Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland and Member of The Pelvic Floor Society of United Kingdom (TPFS).
I deal with all types of elective and emergency colorectal patients in Shifa International Hospital. It includes, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, pelvic floor disorders and colorectal emergencies. I do both open and laparoscopic colorectal resections for cancer, as well as laparoscopic mesh rectopexies (Posterior and Ventral) and other procedures for prolapse and incontinence. I also deal with benign anorectal disorders including, fissures, fistulae and haemorrhoids (piles) on everyday basis.
I am first person in this northern region of Pakistan, who started specialised colorectal work and among the very first and few colorectal surgeons all over the Pakistan. My aim is to develop and organise Colo-Rectal surgery as a speciality here in Pakistan.
My specialised areas of interest are advanced colo-rectal cancer, pelvic exenteration, surgery for constipation and faecal incontinence, complex anorectal fistula and Hemorrhoids.
