Biography
David Edwards has been a consultant surgeon at Frimley Park Hospital since 2001. He completed his specialist colorectal training at St Mark's Hospital in London with Professor John Nichols, having spent his previous 2 years at the Colorectal Research Unit at Basingstoke and at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford. After completing his UK training, in 2001 David was one of the first UK surgeons to achieve the European Board of Surgery Qualification in Colorectal Surgery (EBSQ Coloproctology).
David as particular interests in surgery for inflammatory bowel disease and in colorectal cancer screening. He is the lead colonoscopist for Surrey Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, and leads for Endoscopy at Frimley Park. A keen laparoscopic surgeon, David has been a laparascopic trainer with Lapco for many years. He is widely published in all areas of colorectal practice.
