Biography

After graduating from medical school, Dr. Nawar Alkhamesi completed his basic surgical training at Imperial College London, UK. Subsequent to that he became research fellow at the Department of Biosurgery and Surgical Technology, Imperial College London where he developed and pioneered the technique for peritoneal aerosolization in minimal invasive surgery which led to the awarded his PhD from the University of London, UK for his work on the use of intraperitoneal aerosolization of therapeutics in minimal invasive surgery. Following that Dr. Alkhamesi completed his higher general surgical and colorectal training at Imperial College London followed by a colorectal fellowship at St. Mark’s Hospital and Academic Institute, London, UK and minimal invasive and robotic fellowship at Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics (CSTAR), London Health Sciences Centre, University of Western Ontario, Canada . Before joining the Department of Surgery at Western, Dr. Alkhamesi was a minimal invasive Colorectal and General Surgeon at Imperial College London, UK where he worked at The Royal Marsden, Chelsea & Westminster and St. Mary’s Hospitals Dr. Alkhamesi has received numerous awards for his research, leading to several educational grants, national and international presentation, and multiple publications and peer review journals. Specializing in general and colorectal surgery, Dr. Alkhamesi research interests include surgical innovation and education, advance minimal invasive and video assisted surgery, and the improvement of operative environment.
