Biography
Mr Michael Lim graduated with honours from the University of Melbourne, Australia and trained as a specialist registrar in the Yorkshire region. He obtained his MD at the University of Leeds. He then completed his CSSANZ accredited fellowship in exenterative surgery for advanced and recurrent rectal cancer at Christchurch, New Zealand.
As a trainee, he was awarded a Hunterian professorship from the Royal College of Surgeons of England for his research work on inflammatory bowel disease. He has numerous publications on various aspects of coloproctology and general surgery.
After 5 years as head of General Surgery and Urology at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness and a brief stint as the ACPGBI Scottish chapter representative, he decided to move back to Yorkshire to be closer to his family. His areas of interest include that of laparoscopic surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, faecal incontinence and recurrent colorectal cancer.
